Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Peter Gilding, we are dedicated to reducing our environmental impact through responsible waste management and proactive carbon reduction initiatives. As part of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, we have significantly expanded our use of renewable energy.
In January 2026, we installed an additional 1,048 solar panels across our facility roofs, now covering more than 60% of our site. This investment generates an extra 476 KWP of clean solar energy, reducing our reliance on the national grid and further lowering our carbon emissions.
We have also future-proofed our approach by planning for the remaining roof space to be fitted with solar panels, ensuring we continue to grow our renewable energy capacity in the years ahead.
Waste Management
Our commitment to Sustainable Food Waste Management
At Peter Gilding, sustainability is at the heart of how we operate. To support our mission of reducing environmental impact across our supply chain, we partner with the UK’s leading specialists in food waste recycling experts proven across Europe for transforming unwanted food waste into valuable renewable resources.
Through their advanced technology, food waste collected from our site is converted into green energy supplied directly to the National Gas Grid, as well as ReGrow, a PAS110-accredited, nutrient-rich biofertilizer. ReGrow plays a vital role in improving soil health, strengthening crop yields, and supporting more sustainable farming practices across the UK.
This closed-loop process ensures that nothing goes to waste. By recycling food waste responsibly, we not only divert material from landfill but also help reduce carbon emissions, lower environmental impact, and create renewable energy that powers homes and businesses.
